Meet the Owner of Roark & Company

Welcome to Roark & Company!

I am so happy you have stopped by to visit and learn more about the services and products that we have to offer.

I want to take a minute of your time to introduce myself and share my background and experiences with you. Because lets be honest there are a lot of different businesses and consultant boutiques around and I want to assure you that you are in the right place and with the right kind of person when it comes to meeting your goals.

First and foremost Roark and Company was started with three major goals in mind:

1. Provide strategic long-term and short-term fundraising support to nonprofits in and around the Lowcountry area.

Living in our beautiful Lowcountry we have many missions and many great programs that support our local residents and improve our quality of life. Many times these organizations do not or can not afford a part-time or full-time fundraising staff.

Roark & Company can provide organizations with tailored programming and planning on an as needed basis. These services are tailored to the unique needs and culture of the organization and with specific services. There is no one-size-fits all approach!

2. Secondly, we love to create the best feelings in the world: Thankfulness and Appreciation.

This is done through our services in our very own Thank You Shop. This portion of our work is centered on bringing to life all that these things embody in the most creative and unique way possible.

3. And last, but not least investing in the philanthropic health of our community by partnering, donating and supporting others.

We do this through our pro-bono work with our fundraising services to help support the fiscal viability of our local nonprofits. And also with our Thank You Shop when it comes to appreciating those around us and supporting our local businesses.

Now that you know what we stand for... Meet Hilary!

I am a mother to my beautiful 8 month old daughter Juniper (nickname Goubie) and my adopted fur-baby Mila. The girls keep their father and I pretty busy and I am sure Juniper and Mila will pop-up on some of our postings so keep an eye out

Over the course of the past 10 years I have spent most of my time on Hilton Head Island or in the Bluffton area. I spent the past few years with my father as a full time caregiver before he passed away from Alzheimers. Throughout the course of my caregiving I also worked in the fundraising sector as I have done for the past 13 years of my professional life.

I am a firm believer in the importance of having nonprofits in our communities. They are a critical necessity that ensure the health and quality of life for ourselves and our neighbors. I am also a firm believer in these organizations being fiscally sound and responsible to their philanthropic partners. And I am a strong advocate of stewardship both within the nonprofit and business worlds as well as in our own personal lives.

Over the course of my career I have worked as a Fundraising Consultant, an Individual Giving and Annual Fund Director and a Capital Campaign Manager. I have raised over $8 million dollars in my different roles and ensure creative, innovative, strategic and data driven outcomes for those organizations I have represented. To give you an idea of my work you can visit the company's profile on LinkedIn. Or read the Professional Summary provided below.

I very much look forward to hearing from you and working with your organization through our fundraising services or as an individual in our Thank You Shop!

Best, Hilary
